Introduction[]
The 2024 Winter Update is an update that released on January 6, 2025. The update added a new sesonal world, Lucernia, containing three layers: Lucitreum Layer, Cicallite Layer, and the Confectent Layer. These layers contains ores that were submitted for the 2024 Winter Update contest. A new Tier 8 pickaxe, the Shimmering Starsearcher, was also added into the game.
History[]
The first teaser of the world was posted in #sneaky-peeks on December 11, 2024, showcasing parts of the map. Five days later another teaser was posted on December 16, 2024, with the caption "CHASE YOUR DREAMS" and an image showcasing the Shimmering Starsearcher. The file was named "EIGHTPOINTEDSTAR.png", which possibly hinted to the pickaxe being a Tier 8. Two more teasers were posted on December 23, 2024, showcasing more parts of the map, and on January 5, 2025, showing a picture of a cave in the Cicallite Layer, with Cocytus in it.
The Update was originally planned to be released alongside the Rewrite update. However, both updates were split after a poll was conducted, with Winter Update 2024 being released first. The update was then officially released on January 6, 2025.
