Caves grow crystals that can be mined. Selecting these empower your Shard Rain and Crystal Growth abilities with their effects. Special cave types have 25% more crystals.
Description
"A pickaxe made out of pure crystal that causes crystals to grow out of mined blocks, as well as shooting fragments of the ores you find and raining many little sharp fragments upon the mine. Caves generated by this pickaxe are turned into geodes, giving special crystal shards that can increase luck and ore gain of your abilities or even crystal shards that can burst upon impact."
Introduction
The Crystallized Pickaxe is a tier 5 Pickaxe that is available in World 1. It features a unique mechanic where Cave Shards can be found in caves, altering abilities when activated. There are 3 types of cave shards, each with a unique modifier, and the type is picked by the user.
History
Crystallized Pickaxe was added to the game upon the release of World 2. 4 days after it was added, it got nerfed. On September 16, 2023, a limit was added to the shards, but was not added until 2 days later. Upon the release of The Rebalance™ update, Crystallized Pickaxe received a recipe change and a change to the "Valuable Shard" duplication chance. The proc rate of the "Shard Rain" ability was also changed from 1/68 to 1/59.
