Ores

Introduction

Collecting Ores is the primary objective of the game. Ores are found in the mine of each world.

Ores are required to craft Pickaxes and Gears that help players progress through the game. They can also be sold for money, which is needed to teleport to different layers in various worlds, and also for crafting Gears; ore sell value is calculated as OreRarity/5000. Additionally, ores tiered Mythic and higher can be traded between players with over one million blocks mined. Specific ores are also occasionally required for other purposes, such as gaining access to Subworld 1, which requires the player to obtain at least 1 Viridian and Adurite to enter. The player's ores are displayed on a list on the left side of the screen, ordered by tier.

Tiers

Each ore is assigned a tier depending on its rarity.

There is also a tier for layer blocks and the main blocks of caves. Every tier except for Zenith and Exclusive can be found by normal mining, whereas Zenith-tier ores require players to complete special challenges to be found. The Exclusive tier contains developer ores and can only be obtained by a developer placing one in the player's inventory; they cannot be found in the mines.

Variations

All non-layer ores have ionized and spectral variants. When spawned, each ore has the chance to generate in their ionized or spectral forms, which are identified by their unusual colouring in comparison to their normal counterpart. These variants can be found by pressing the "Normal" button above the search bar in the ore inventory.

The chance at which an ore is replaced with an ionized or spectral variant depends on its tier, with higher tiers having a higher ionized chance. For example, Uncommon tier ores have a 1/100 chance to be replaced with their ionized variant while Enigmatics have just a 1/30 chance. An additional 1/15 chance is rolled for spectral ores regardless of tier. For example, Rare tier ores have a 1/1350 chance to be replaced by their spectral variant, obtained after successfully rolling the 1/90 chance for it to be ionized and the aforementioned 1/15 chance for the spectral variant. In the in-game ore list, pressing an ore's rarity will show its ionized and spectral rarities. A list of all the ionized and spectral multipliers can be found below.

The color of ionized and spectral ores are determined by the game's code rather than being individually chosen per ore. Each world has a unique ionized and spectral coloration, so if the player were to join a different world and place an ionized or spectral ore, it would look different.

An important detail regarding ionized/spectral ores is that they cannot be sold. While some ionized ores are used on high-tier recipes, spectral ores are not used in any crafting and instead serve as elusive collectibles for players, with the only exception being Phantomite, being used in Bucket of Sealed Whispers in spectral form.

Introduction

Layer is a unique rarity tier that applies to all cave type and layer ores. Currently, there are 81 Layer ores in the game.

All layers, assuming there is no border of Bedrock or Moonrock preventing this, will spawn their respective Layer ore 50m into the layers above and below it.

Layer ores are the only ores that the Ore Placer can place multiple of. They also will not be labelled as "[Player]'s placed [Ore]". Other players are also able to mine them, though they will still belong to and return to the original owner. Bedrock, Moonrock and Barrier cannot be placed.

Layer ores cannot be found ionized or spectral normally. In the past, however, ionized and spectral cave blocks in Subworld 1 were once obtainable due to a glitch, which has since been fixed.

Introduction

Common is the lowest rarity tier in the game, ranging from 0 to 999. Currently, there are 157 Commons in the game. Neodymium is the rarest Common while Coal, Pitcoal, Remedial, and rocc are the most common. Taking adjusted rarity into account, Corrupted Data would be the rarest.

Charged Barrier, a Common ore, is only obtained via special means and is used to obtain a Zenith ore. To learn how to obtain it, visit its page.

Exquisite is a rarity tier ranging from 7,500,001 to 15,000,000. Currently, there are 91 Exquisites in the game, with another one having been removed. In terms of base rarity, Electrolyx is the rarest Exquisite while Itomidori is the most common. Taking adjusted rarity into account, Protoflare would be the rarest (Ambrosia if the player is not using the 57 Leaf Clover or Ambrosia Salad).

When an Exquisite tier ore is uncovered, it will play an intense heartbeat sound effect, followed with a wind instrument sound effect (commonly referred to as a "heartskip" or simply "skip").

Introduction

Enigmatic is a rarity tier that ranges from 50,000,000 to 99,999,999. There are 120 Enigmatic tier ores in the game, with another three having been removed. In terms of base rarity, Polaroidium is the rarest Enigmatic while Lunar Ω is the most common. Taking adjusted rarity into account, Aetherion would be the rarest (Hyperheated Quasar if the player is not using the 57 Leaf Clover or Ambrosia Salad).

When an Enigmatic tier ore is uncovered, it will play a loud ringing sound and blur the player's vision (commonly referred to as a "blur").

Introduction

Unfathomable is the second-highest base tier in the game, with a range between 100,000,000 to 774,999,999. There are currently 62 ores of this tier in the game, with another one having been removed. In terms of base rarity, Dynamo of Fate and Lunar Voidirinite are the rarest Unfathomables while Computer Annihilator 4600 MK. II is the most common. Taking adjusted rarity into account, Solace would be the rarest if the player is not using the 57 Leaf Clover or Ambrosia Salad and the most common otherwise.

When an Unfathomable tier ore is uncovered, it will play a loud and intense spawn sound. All Unfathomable tier ores have a unique spawn message, excluding those from Luna Refuge.

Zenith is a rarity tier that differs from all other rarities, being a tier consisting of ores that can only be obtained via special means. There is currently 1 Zenith in the game, Zanarchium.

When a Zenith tier ore is uncovered, it will play a loud and intense spawn sound.

Introduction

Exclusive is a rarity solely dedicated to developer-exclusive ores, commonly referred to as "Developer Ores" within the community. Exclusive-tier ores cannot naturally be found in the mine and can only be obtained through a developer placing them in your inventory.

Exclusive was added on August 23rd, 2025 as a way to separate developer ores from Zenith-tier ores. All ores in this category were considered as such before this date.
