The Prism of Chaos is a Tier 8 pickaxe crafted in World 2. It has many strong abilities, each with very high luck boosts. The Prism of Chaos is infamous for its recipe, containing lots of common and rare ores from every layer in World 2, conflicting with almost all Pickaxes and Gears in terms of materials required.
The Chaotization ability is this pickaxe's standout gimmick, as it grants the player a 50% chance to mine an extra block. Notably, this extra block mined can still trigger other abilities, unlike all other abilities that let the player mine extra with their cursor.
Note: The Color Shotgun's convergent beam actually has a luck boost of 2.5x.
History
The Prism of Chaos was added to the game upon World 2's release. It received many skins across its lifetime. When Part 2 of the 2024 Summer Event released, the Fortinium, Coronium and Verdulite requirements were replaced with Zenflow, Enchantium and Celestivian respectively. In addition, the Prism of Chaos received a recipe change and a nerf upon the release of The Rebalance™ update.

Trivia
- Though it is not stated on the ability, Prism Burst angles its orbs to shoot towards the closest blocks to the spawned prism, ensuring slightly better coverage.
- If you use the Chaotization ability before you mine enough blocks, it will trap you in a prism and after a short while, the prism will shatter causing the amount mined for the next Chaotization to go up by a further 10,000-50,000 at random. This can stack up with multiple early usages.
- The sound that plays when a Chaotization is ready comes from activating the ability of the Ivory Periastron, a gear in the Periastron series of swords.
- Most of the skins for the Prism of Chaos have had on-release issues.
- The Color Shotgun on the Pumpkin of Chaos would do two back-to-back beams on every 14th (and thereby 15th) activation of the ability.
- The Blizzard of Chaos and Prism of Paradise both had issues with the beam not mining as much as it should.
- The nilPrism would permanently stick the player in Chaotize visually, although the extra mining would go for the standard amount of time, locking the player into being unable to Chaotize again unless they reset their server.
- The Prism of Paradise also had an eighth orb on Color Shotgun.
- The msPrism skin is a reference to MS Paint, a digital art software built-in for Windows.
